Got to see Pharmakon a couple years back when I visited NC for Moogfest. The energy was amazing. I was there too! It was absolutely nuts. I played a show with a band called The Stone Eye in mid March right before everything shut down. Before that I think the last show I went to was either Cloud Rat or Escuela Grind. Or maybe Toke with my friends' bands. It all seems like so long ago now lol

I can't even remember if I am being honest. it feels very strange not to have been to any live music in 6 months now. I saw Tim and Eric in February here in Chicago, but I think the last show I saw was Riverboat Gamblers at Cobra Lounge here in Chicago in December. We had tickets to a lot of stuff between March and now...but....you know how that goes.
Man, I miss Cobra Lounge too. So many good venues in Chicago. I hope they can make it through this.
I know. I feel like we are already seeing places, mainly independent restaurants and coffee shops going under. If anything were to happen to the Empty Bottle, or Cobra or a few other places here in town it would be a giant loss to the music scene here. I live right by the bottle, if I had to walk by it every day and see it closed I don't think I would ever not be depressed.

The Riverboat Gamblers are usually super fun live. The last time I saw them Mike was crawling up into the rafters of the venue. Though technically I guess I saw him do stand up weirdly more recently. stand up? Going to have to ask them about that. I lived in Austin for a long time, and so I know a few of those guys. A buddy of mine also plays in another band with a few of the Gambler, called Broken Gold. I highly recommend them. brokengoldatx.bandcamp.com Yeah, we saw them in this little tiny room and they were all over the place. it was a great show. it was like 3 in the afternoon or something and Mike was crawling up on the bar, trying to hang from the ceiling, etc. He then got in the middle of the room (not a very big room) and had every one get down on a knee or as close to the ground as possible and every one jump up when the music hit at the same time. so fun. They always bring good energy. and yeah, Tim and Eric... they always get me right on the verge of peeing myself every time I have seen their live show.

My last show was the collaboration by The Body & Uniform. I think it was March 11. I was still holding on to a little hope that a full-blown pandemic wasn't developing, but we did go to 7-11 looking for hand sanitizer and could only find rubbing alcohol so we bought it. My friend told me that the NBA just announced it was cancelling its season. I looked around the small, packed room (3 Links, Dallas) and thought, "Wow, being in here is a really bad idea." It was a great show. I think they cancelled the remainder of their tour dates a day or two after this.

I think it might have been Immortal Bird back in mid-December in Boston. They were great despite the venue being not that great, and the turnout lackluster. They gave it their best despite the small audience, and I respect the hell out of them for that. They played Thrive of Neglect all the way through. Been way too long since I've been able to see live music, going to be a long time before I feel safe enough to go again. It's a real bummer.

Last show i saw was YOB, Voivod and Amenra. Amenra stole the show for me hands down. YOB is great but i had seen them the previous year. however, they did play "beauty in falling leaves" which was a dream come true.
I miss live music...

I missed that tour. I really wanted to see Voivod, I've never seen them live which is ridiculous because they've been around forever. I really like YOB too.

Voivod were good. they've never really been my thing, but they put on a good show. just a bunch of old dudes playing tripped out space metal. their guitarist was awesome!
