Oh I guess I have a Bloodborne playthrough going but I've sort of fallen off. I've played Dark Souls and Bloodborne so much I think I've hit my limit.

I just picked up Control again on PS4, but I'm working on some career change stuff that's making it hard to fit gaming in. Two games I played this year made me full on weep, Disco Elysium and Outer Wilds, but both also came out last year. I had a solid couple months of playing Civ VI non stop but after I finished my big afrofuturist playthrough as Mali I kind of lost steam (I'll finish you one day, Maori Cultural Victory campaign). Been playing table top games remotely a lot actually. Gloomhaven and D&D. I think my Gloomhaven crew might switch to the video game when it comes out because there are so many rules to keep track of. Disco Elysium and Control are both amazing games. Outer Wilds didn't grab me as much for some reason. I think it's the setting.
I bough Gloomhaven a while ago to play with my kid. Great game if you have the time and table space. Just curious, how do you manage playing it remotely?

Just checking- you DO mean Outer Wilds and not the Outer Worlds right? Just had a few confusing convos about that game.
We use tabletop simulator. It's pretty good because there's a comprehensive mod that does most of the work for you, but we learned last week we'd been playing on Hard this whole time by accident. I think it's a little bit of a worst of both worlds situation where it's a little less social feeling than playing in meatspace on a table, but not quite as automatic and easy as a video game. I get to be an Evil Rat Witch with some friends who live far away though so it's worth it.

Haha, yes, I was thinking of Outer Worlds. I did also play Outer Wilds but I got frustrated with the controls and stopped playing early on, I think I will go back to that one.

I just picked up Control again on PS4... Platinumed (rare for me) Control over winter. Huge fun once you get into the flow of it. The side mission bosses are *brutal*. Haven't played the DLC yet but high hopes.

Haven't played the DLC yet but high hopes. So far the combat hasn't really connected with me and I'm not sure why. I love everything else about the game though so I'm still playing it. I'm en route to the Black Rock Quarry for the first time for reference.

Stringing the abilities together in a room full of enemies felt really good by the end. Except for those healing spheres. Those can get fucked.

I need to get back into Control and actually finish it. That game was kicking my ass a bit at the start but man I love Remedy Games so much. Has such a cool story (from what I've seen)

been playing battlefield 1 alongside vic for a few months, i was never a video game person but i really enjoy this game. last night i was on a map and two people on my team kept coming up to me and smashing me with melee weapons and i was really confused until i realized they were trying to get me to join their squad to play with them as i had played with them once before. ended up playing a few rounds dicking around and it was really cute and fun.

BF1 is still pretty active online wise? I just assumed it had died off after the subsequent newer games came out.
Pretty solid game though, one of the last multiplayer shooters I really got into.

Yeah there's like, 5-6 64 person servers full at any given time playing conquest. Very rarely can we not find a populated server to play

Out of curiosity anyone on here hit that WoW Classic when it dropped? I'm 8 months clean, but fuck if it didn't really take over my life for a bit.

Nah, used to play the hell out of WoW in high school but that was around WotLK. A couple friends are super into classic still, but I feel like I don't have it in me these days to get into a game like that and just grind.

It's wild though I still miss the friends I played with. They're all WoW addicts so idk if I'll ever get to talk to them now that I don't play.
