Gift Shop Springtime in Vienna Grace, Too Don't Wake Daddy The Darkest One I was never a *huge* fan of Grace, Too, but when they played it on the farewell tour it was probably the most powerful moment of live music I've ever witnessed. Also, I will go on record saying The Darkest One is the only good thing Don Cherry was ever involved in. (Edit: Unless you include Dear Coaches Corner by Propagandhi, but that's a stretch)
100% agree on darkest one. Grace too always struck me, but watching gord reckon with his impending mortality on the final concert during the end of that song had me in tears and I still have a hard time watching or hearing that performance. Was genuinely perspective altering for me.

Top 5 songs of all time is really hard for me, but I've picked some that have continued to resonate with me. No particular order: 1. The Night Marchers - Jump in the Fire 2. Sleater-Kinney - Get Up 3. Helium - Honeycomb 4. Hot Snakes - 10th Planet 5. Bikini Kill - Feels Blind Jumper from Sleater-Kinney almost made my list. That song fucks me up in the best way. Yeah, that's one that's pretty up there for me too. I considered SK my favorite band for a really long time. And they're definitely still up there. (You can catch me crying in the audience from their Austin City Limits performance from a few years ago. lol) I still love them, though I hate to be that person but I am not in love with their newest album or how dismissive they seemed to act towards Janet's contribution to the band. But, I'm not in the band so who am I to say? I wasn't there. Their music basically saved my life at points so they'll always be a fav.

oh for sure, that personal experience matters above all else. the woods hit me a ton, but i never was able to really connect with the stuff before it or after it. after seeing janet's story about leaving the band and the indifference carrie and corrin showed about her leaving it definitely soured me. but jumper will always be a song i will fuck with heavily.
