I have been obsessing over Velvet Cacoon for years and a subreddit recapping all of the hoaxes and history has emerged in the last month or so.

I love VC dearly.

Shrouded Elk give off a similar vibe, there's not much by them but what is out there is highly recommended, especially if you like Book of Sand's black metal output. They're "naturalist" so likely fit the green criteria, too.

oh yeah, have you checked out Panopticon? Not necessarily ecoterroristic black metal, but very pro nature

It's definitely NOT black metal, but Extinction is doing eco-slam death metal, and has the (second) best merch game around.

Listened to the one release on bandcamp, looks like they are holding stuff back. I'll check out the YouTube links, thanks! Good to see another VC fan.
