I love VC dearly. Shrouded Elk give off a similar vibe, there's not much by them but what is out there is highly recommended, especially if you like Book of Sand's black metal output. They're "naturalist" so likely fit the green criteria, too.

It's definitely NOT black metal, but Extinction is doing eco-slam death metal, and has the (second) best merch game around. extinctionevent.bandcamp.com/
