Watched Battle Royale again last night, and it's still one of my all time favourites. I've never seen the sequel, so I'm about to watch that. Not very high hopes, but we'll see...

The original BC is great. Really well done and stands out among the glut of slasher films in the 80's. Definitely give Zombie's first Halloween a stab if it is on free sometime. I actually didn't go nuts over the Devil's Rejects and couldn't last 15 minutes through Lords of Salem. He has a pretty narrow vision for most of his stuff and casting the same people over and over again isn't ideal, but he really created a nice origin story for Michael in his adaptation. Some didn't like there was an origin story at all which is understandable too. The second one is much gorier, darker. It seemed rushed but has its moments.
I would agree. I never got into Rob Zombie's other movies but I enjoyed his take on Halloween.
I think I might be the only person on earth who loved Lords of Salem.

I think I might be the only person on earth who loved Lords of Salem. It just struck me as extremely self-gratuitous, which - is fine. He is an artist. I know it was a passion project for him, and I only gave it 15-20 minutes so maybe I will pick it back up someday. Rewatching REC and REC 2 tonight because they are fucking awesome, meant to be watched together, and matches my mood living in the backwardass state of Georgia ATM.

Love the REC movies. Just discovered there's a 4th one.
How about The Purge? I think about them every time I deal with rich people.
1: Decent scary house movie. 2: The best Purge movie. 3: The best movie. 4: Blade vs. the Nazis [fk yea].

I don't really understand whats self-gratuitous about it? I really recommend watching it and applying some death of the author logic. It's got a specific vibe I really like and I'm a big fan of some of the imagery. I'm not big on Rob Zombie at all, and only watched it because people said it was bad, but ended up really liking it. The REC movies rule. I even like the shitty later ones.

First one was a bummer at the time because the idea was much better in my head. But then the second one was exactly that, so all was forgiven. It's okay in hindsight.
I'm no good at making time for TV but might make an effort for PURGE.

I didn't love Bone Tamahawk, but it did make me want to watch Ravenous again.

The final one was average compared to the others but like you said, they all rule. Love the mythology behind it. And the zombies are terrifying.
